Third Avenue United Church considers its ministry beyond the four walls of the church as vital to its life and mission. Several services are held in the community as regular parts of its ministry. Sunday Services are conducted at both River Heights Lodge and Battleford District care, 2:30 P.M. and 3:30 PM. every Sunday. This program is a project of the Battlefords Ministerial Association; so churches take turns in conducting these services. When it's the turn of Third Avenue Untied Church to conduct these services, the minister and lay people carry out this important ministry. A service every fourth Thursday of the month is conducted at the Villa Pascal, for those who are not members of the Roman Catholic Church. Also in cooperation with Battleford United Church, Third Avenue United Church takes a turn in providing communion service to residents in both care facilities every third Wednesday of every month. Aside from these, regular visits are made to church members who are admitted as patients at Battleford Union Hospital. Per request and on case-to-case basis, counseling service can be arranged with the minister at the church office on marital, pre-marital and other related needs in individual and family life.. |
